  • Engaging Employees through Heartfelt Fundraising: CWB Maxium Financial

2020-02

Make-A-Wish® Toronto & Central Ontario relies on incredible corporate partners to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Donor support is key to the success of our organization’s ability to grant wishes, and engaging employees through fundraising is also good for business.

A company with a strong charitable partnership has greater success recruiting new employees, retaining staff, and keeping their teams happy and engaged. CWB Maxium Financial demonstrated this in 2019 through a year-long fundraising campaign for Make-A-Wish® that included a heart-warming Valentine’s Day Breakfast.  “We wanted our employees to feel like they were doing something hands-on as opposed to simply donating to a cause,” shared Lindsay Martin, Marketing Specialist at CWB Maxium Financial. “We chose a charity that touched home for many of our employees.”

The ingenuity of the employees at CWB Maxium Financial is clear – with creative admission tickets and pancakes served by their fellow employees, they were able to bring the mission of Make-A-Wish into their mornings while enjoying a delicious Valentine’s Day breakfast and having some fun.

In addition to the breakfast fundraiser, throughout the year, the team raffled tickets for gift baskets, played ‘Adventure Survivor’ (where one lucky winner got a pick-your-adventure prize), sold poinsettias to encourage holiday cheer and overall enjoyed fundraising for Make-A-Wish and feeling close to the cause.

Through these innovative and festive fundraising events in 2019, CWB Maxium Financial raised $10,000 to help grant wishes for children when they need them most.
