  • Shulman Law Continues Strong Support of Make-A-Wish®

2020-10

Make-A-Wish® Toronto & Central Ontario relies on incredible corporate partners to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Donor support is key to the success of our organization’s ability to grant wishes, and engaging employees through fundraising is also good for business.

Employee engagement has changed this year as many organizations continuing to work remotely and with social distance protocols in place. The team at Make-A-Wish was thrilled to work with Shulman & Partners LLP to ensure they could keep their employees engaged with innovative practices all while raising funds in support of our wish kids and their families. It’s thanks to these strong partnerships that Make-A-Wish Toronto & Central Ontario is still able to grant life-changing wishes during these challenging times.

Shulman & Partners LLP have been strong supporters of Make-A-Wish since 2016, raising $40,000 in the first four years. From 2016-2019, Shulman & Partners LLP supported Make-A-Wish and employees engaged through fundraising at lunches, summer BBQs, and holiday parties.

“As a family law firm, we’ve seen children and families go through truculent experiences, and so it is important to us that we find ways to help build strong families wherever we can,” says Ron Shulman, Founder and Managing Partner of Shulman & Partners LLP.  “We thought that becoming involved with Make-A-Wish was an excellent way to make a positive difference for a child, but we didn’t truly understand how much of an impact that being involved with this organization would have on us.”

With a $10,000 goal for 2020, Shulman & Partners LLP is launching a series of virtual events including a trivia night and bingo game to keep employees engaged in new and fun ways.

“We’re thrilled to have incredible support from partners like Shulman & Partners LLP,” says Cari Miller, Manager, Corporate Alliances at Make-A-Wish® Canada. “Life feels like it’s on hold for many of us right now and for kids fighting critical illnesses, waiting may not

be an option. When our generous donors and supporters come together during this time of stress and isolation, we can give a child hope, comfort and precious moments with their family.”

“The Shulman & Partners employees are always thrilled to be a part of making a child’s wish come true,” shared Amiliah Goodrich, Online Community Manager, “It is heartwarming to see how our organization’s donations and involvement can impact the life of a child. It truly increases the morale and motivation of the employees. As the online coordinator, it’s a fantastic feeling to share the story of the child we are matched with. Being able to follow the child’s journey and see the smile on their face when they receive their wish, is priceless.”

Thank you to the team at Shulman & Partners LLP for supporting Make-A-Wish® Canada. Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
