  • Six Questions with Sicard RV

Sicard RV has been a Make-A-Wish® Toronto & Central Ontario partner since 2017, helping to grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illness. The company is engaged in our Adopt-A-Wish® program and grants wishes for local children it is matched with. In two years, Sicard RV has raised an incredible $22,000.

We had the opportunity to speak with Nicole Serwatuk and Ashley Rego from Sicard RV about their involvement with Make-A-Wish®.

1. Tell us about Sicard RV and your roles within the organization.

Family owned and operated since 1968, Sicard RV is one of Canada's largest premier recreational vehicle dealerships. Sicard RV, carries an inventory of over 700 RVs, ranging from Travel Trailers to Fifth Wheels to Class-A Motor Homes. We provide our customers with exceptional in-house services and carry one of the largest selections of RV parts and accessories.

Nicole is our Human Resources Generalist, and Ashley is our Marketing Manager. Together, we bring many different ideas and skills to make our partnership with Make-A-Wish = successful.

2. Why is Sicard RV interested in partnering with Make-A-Wish?

We believe the Make-A-Wish mission to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses is incredibly important. Sicard RV specializes in providing our customers with the tools to transform their lives through travel and exploration. There is no other charity that so perfectly aligns with our company values.

3. What has been the most memorable moment of the partnership between Sicard RV and Make-A-Wish?

Being assigned our first sponsored wish was an exciting moment for us. It was then that we realized the impact we were about to have on the life of a child and their family.

4. What was the key to your fundraising success?

Our success was due to the support we received company-wide. All employees were thrilled to participate in fundraising initiatives including raffle baskets, 50/50 ticket sales and many more. Our generous customers also jumped at the opportunity to support Make-A-Wish and participate in fundraising activities during our Spring and Fall Open House events.

5. Why should people support Make-A-Wish?

A small donation, or simply helping to spread the word about the difference Make-A-Wish is making, will change the life of a child and their family. Every child deserves to experience joy during a difficult time. Seeing a smile on wish kids’ faces is more than enough to encourage others to get involved.

6. What would your one true wish be?

Nicole: My wish would be to travel to Nashville and watch a performance at the Grand Ole Opry and meet a famous country singer.

Ashley: My one true wish is to go to New York Fashion Week and experience a day in the life of a fashion designer.
