  • Virtual Employee Engagement With IFDS

International Financial Data Services (IFDS) has been a dedicated supporter of Make-A-Wish® Toronto & Central Ontario since 2014. Its staff have enthusiastically participated in Make-A-Wish® Rope for Hope Toronto, volunteered at events that support Make-A-Wish® - including the Honda Indy Toronto, championed in-office employee fundraising with creative engagement campaigns, and have staff participation on three separate Make-A-Wish volunteer committees. IFDS had a fantastic plan in place for engaging their employees with in-office fundraising for April 2020, but like many other companies, most staff have been working remotely since mid-March and plans had to change.

The company’s commitment to Make-A-Wish remains strong despite current challenges, and employees are using this time to develop inventive ways to engage employees and help supporti the record number of wishes-in-waiting at this time. In the coming weeks, IFDS will be hosting virtual fundraising events including online Bingo, a trivia night, a gift basket raffle, and a “Dish for a Wish!” recipe sharing initiative in which all recipes submitted will be compiled into a digital cookbook.

“Our organization has a strong culture of caring and corporate citizenship. For the last six years, IFDS has had the pleasure of working with Make-A-Wish to help children with critical illnesses feel better, stronger and more hopeful for their futures,” says Chris Diebel, Vice President, Relationship Management at IFDS. “Having personally seen family members struggle through losing a sick child, this charity is very near and dear to me. It also holds a special place for many of my colleagues who are involved with Make-A-Wish in their personal and professional lives. That’s why, this year, we are excited to be strengthening IFDS’ partnership with the charity through our first-ever Virtual Make-A-Wish Campaign filled with fun online events and activities.”

Donations will be collected for Make-A-Wish through each activity, and IFDS is generously matching employee contributions.

“We’re thrilled to have incredible support from partners like IFDS,” says Cari Miller, Manager, Corporate Alliances at Make-A-Wish® Canada. “Now more than ever, hope is essential, and we do not want any child to unnecessarily wait even an extra day for their wish to be granted. This support from IFDS and other partners helps ensure that every child who has waited for a wish since the global pandemic began, can receive their wish as soon as possible.”

The IFDS Virtual Make-A-Wish Campaign campaign aims to raise $15,000 to support life-changing wishes for children with critical illness.
