Jeremiah's Dream Family Vacation

Jeremiah is a happy-go-lucky seven-year-old with an infectious smile. When he was just three years old, he was diagnosed with a blood disorder that affects his bone marrow and can lead to numerous health complications throughout his life. He is predisposed to developing tumours and cancer. In order to fight his critical illness, Jeremiah underwent a bone marrow transplant nearly two years ago.

When Jeremiah was told that he would be granted a wish he knew exactly what he wanted. He wished to go on a Caribbean cruise with his family. His four days on the ship were everything he’d hoped for. The family enjoyed the warm weather, played mini putt, zoomed down the water slide and made sandcastles on the beach. Jeremiah was entertained by the stage performances each night on the ship and he loved eating waffles for breakfast every day.

This trip was a much-needed vacation for the entire family. They were able to leave behind their worries about hospital visits and ongoing treatments – it was the perfect break. Jeremiah and his family are so grateful for his wish and the happiness that it brought to all of them.

“Thank you. We have been so blessed by Make-A-Wish!” says Tamara, Jeremiah’s mom.

When a wish is granted, it does much more than bring joy to a child’s heart. For wish kids like Jeremiah, who are faced with critical illnesses, a wish-come-true provides them with strength to battle through darkness and hope for healthier, happier days ahead.
