Vanessa's journey with Make-A-Wish family began in 2014, while she was at university. "I was initially involved in the Schulich Charity Association Charity Fashion Show," she says. "The president of the club at the time was a former wish child and chose Make-A-Wish as the charity to sponsor. The following year I became president of the club and kept Make-A-Wish as the beneficiary of the foundation."

Susan has volunteered with Make-A-Wish for 15 years and helps bring awarness about the organization to the Niagara community. She is passionate about her work as a volunteer wish granter and shares how her upbringing has impacted her decision to volunteer with Make-A-Wish

Hena joined the Make-A-Wish community as a volunteer wish granter in 2015. "I love the mission statement of Make-A-Wish, helping families through the roughest time in their lives," she says. "It is fulfilling to meet the family, get their story and then see the wish being granted. Hena also says thatI love being involved in all stages of the wish-granting process.

Lucy and Martha

Lucy and Martha have been friends for over 30 years and have volunteered with Make-A-Wish for five years. They feel personally connected to the organization and the work they do as volunteers. Together, Lucy and Martha have granted many life-changing wishes to children living with critical illnesses.

Denise is a wish mom with a special connection to the organization. Her son, Matthew, was granted a wish in 2014, but passed away very unexpectedly not too long after. She is inspired by the role Make-A-Wish played in helping grant Matthew's wish, and chose to become a volunteer wish granter after he passed away.
