Delainey's wish brings her joy and comfort

Delainey is a happy, bubbly child whose smile lights up the room. Her medical condition causes seizures, and lowers her immunity to viruses and infections. She wished for something that would bring her much needed comfort and joy at home.

Delainey wished to have a “big girl bed”, one that makes her feel like a big kid and provides a safe area for the nights when she has seizures. Make-A-Wish took her wish one step further and gave her a special new bed and a room makeover.

While Delainey’s room was being redecorated, she and her family stayed in a hotel and spent time at the Manitoba Children’s Museum, went swimming in their hotel pool, and even visited Santa at the Mall.

On returning home, Delainey explored her beautiful bedroom. She enjoys her new chair for watching movies in, and most of all she loves her new purple tent Safety Sleeper bed, with padded supports that will keep her safe at night.

“Delainey was so happy. She loves her new bed and the room makeover,” says Shannon, Delainey’s mom.

“Seeing her enjoy her new room and settling in is the best feeling ever. Her smile and happiness says it all. She has been sleeping so good.”

Thank you to Dave & Buster’s Oakville for granting Delainey’s wish! Your generous contribution made Delainey’s Big Girl Room a very special place!

When a wish is granted, it does much more than bring joy to a child’s heart. For kids like Delainey, who are faced with critical illnesses, a wish-come-true provides them with strength to battle through darkness and gives them hope for healthier, happier days ahead.
